VMK’s Elikia smartphone has now formally been launched. As stated in the company’s C.E.O., Verone Mankou, VMK wishes to be for Africa what Apple is for the USA and Samsung is for Asia.
The marketplace for this phone is certainly big, however its success hinges completely on the high quality of the device and just how effectively VMK brings them to market.
The Elikia mobile phone currently costs $170 while VMK’s Way C tablet costs a whooping $300.
As we previously revealed, the Elikia smartphone has a 3.5 inch (and 480 x 320) display as well as 512MB of RAM, a 650MHz processor, 5 megapixel rear/front VGA cameras and FM radio. It also has its own app store and prepaid gift cards for app lovers. Through its hotspot wi-fi functionality, users can connect up to 5 wi-fi devices.
