First African Designed Smartphone “Elikia by VMK” hits market; costs $170

VMK’s Elikia smartphone has now formally been launched. As stated in the company’s C.E.O., Verone Mankou, VMK wishes to be for Africa what Apple is for the USA and Samsung is for Asia.

The marketplace for this phone is certainly big, however its success hinges completely on the high quality of the device and just how effectively VMK brings them to market.

The Elikia mobile phone currently costs $170 while VMK’s Way C tablet costs a whooping $300.

It also has its own app store and prepaid gift cards for app lovers. Through its hotspot wi-fi functionality, users can connect up to 5 wi-fi devices.
