Africa: Mxit Launches Programme To Help Developers Promote Their Apps

About two months after it launched its developer APIs, Mxit, Africa’s largest social network has introduced the developer kickstart programme.

The programme is designed to help Mxit developers make their new apps discovered by millions of Mxit users. What this means is that Mxit would be giving some of the best independent Mxit developers a chance to get their apps promoted on Mxit.

One of the Mxit developers who would benefit from this programme is Motribe, which launched the “JudgeME” app on Mxit in March.

But the programme is only available to early-stage or independent developers who are just starting on their own, and can’t afford to buy ads in bulk, and not large companies.

The Mxit platform was opened up for any developer to have access to Mxit Authentication and Messaging, along with the ability to easily publish apps on
through its Mobi Portal API.
